Passing of Timothy Korzun of Lambertville
WRSU Alumni Tim Korzun has Passed Away. Tim was a long time
supporter of
the station.
He will be missed by many. Following is from the New Hope Free Press:
Timothy John Korzun of Lambertville died at home on April 6 2020.
He was a founding law partner in Sheak and Korzun, P.C., of Lawrenceville
(previously of Pennington) N.J., specializing in surety and construction bond
litigation for over 30 years. He was active in Lambertville City government for
three decades, serving for much of that time as Chairman of the Planning Board,
and recently serving as the Planning Board’s attorney. He also served on the
Hunterdon County Tax Board, most recently serving as its President.
Tim was also active in local and Hunterdon County Democratic Party politics,
serving for many years as a member of the HCDC Executive Board. For many years,
each Fall, he spent Saturday mornings staffing the Lambertville Democratic
Party’s voter registration table at the corner of Bridge and Union Streets.
Tim sang in the choir at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Lambertville. He was
an avid bicyclist, and remembered fondly biking trips with Sharon around the
Ring of Kerry in Ireland and down the C&O Canal from Cumberland, Md. to
Washington D.C.
Tim had a deep passion for record collecting, treasuring LPs, 78s, 45s, and CDs
from many genres and eras. He also had a passion for radio, having worked as
on-air talent on WRSU of Rutgers University and WPRB of Princeton University in
years past. He and several good friends performed occasionally in clubs and for
many years on NPR programs as The Punsters. Tim was a talented audio recording
creator and editor, assisting many musical groups over the years. He also
enjoyed singing, and playing bass guitar and keyboards in groups including The
Breetles and Duf Davis & the Book Club.
Tim is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sharon Hallanan, and their beloved
daughter Jeanna Korzun; Tim’s sister Dr. Barbara Korzun of Bucks County, and
Tim’s brother Dr. Jonathan Korzun (and wife Donna) of Stevensville, Mich. Tim
was predeceased by brother Andrew Korzun, and by his parents John and Virginia
Korzun of North Brunswick, N.J.
Private interment will be held at a later date. The family would be grateful for
charitable donations in Tim’s memory to Fisherman’s Mark, 37 S. Main St.,
Lambertville, NJ 08530.
